Although I can quickly play around with the Mi 11 Ultra and select the same black and white and filmic mode, I love the possibility to experiment with it. Both phones allow me to do so, but if I am using the main sensor or a little bit of zoom, I would say that the Mi 11 Ultra cannot compete with the 13 Pro in effectively using these filters.
The 13 Pro produces better results with more contrast and depth to the shot. However, when it comes to zooming in, it’s a different story. The Mi 11 Ultra has a periscope that allows zooming in up to five times. However, since it allows less light to come in, the shots may look darker. Therefore, my preference switches depending on the situation. It’s important to remember that preference plays a significant role when comparing phones like these.
As previously mentioned, there is a significant difference between the Mi 11 Ultra and the 13 Pro in terms of camera capabilities. The Mi 11 Ultra has a periscope, while the 13 Pro has a movable telephoto lens that enables you to get closer to your subject and achieve a beautiful depth-of-field effect.
The camera on the 13 Pro is one of my favorites, especially for portrait photography, as it captures a lot of detail. I do think that the sensor could be slightly larger, but overall, the camera performs excellently well.

The 13 Pro does not have this feature, so it can be difficult to ensure that you are properly framed when taking photos or videos of yourself. While it may seem like a strange gimmick, I have come to appreciate this feature and find it very useful for photography and selfies. This is an important difference to consider when choosing between the two phones.
It’s unlikely that we’ll see that feature on the Note 13 devices, but personally, I wouldn’t mind if it were included. I find it quite useful, especially after the updates improved its functionality. The Mi 11 Ultra’s rear display is a great feature for taking shots of yourself, unlike the 13 Pro which doesn’t have one. With the 13 Pro, you just have to guess and hope that you’re properly framed when recording high-quality videos of yourself since you can’t see yourself to judge.
Video Performance And Recording:
The 4K 30fps footage looks good when using the ultra-zoom feature. It seems that the Mi 11 Ultra has some sharpening and a slightly confusing look, but it’s uncertain as the phone’s display might not accurately represent what the hardware and software can produce.
Both phones have a resolution limit of 1080p, but the Mi 11 can record at 60 frames per second, which the 13 Pro cannot do. However, it’s evident that the Mi 11 Ultra performs better than the 13 Pro at this task. To make a fair comparison, let’s consider both phones at 1080p and 30 frames per second. Unfortunately, the dynamic range isn’t great for either phone in this scenario.
However, when it comes to telephoto shots, the Mi 11 Ultra excels while the Mi 11 cannot compete. This feature is really fun to experiment with on the Mi 11, and while it’s not as good as the 13 Pro, it’s still impressive.
Night Mode Camera Comparison:
There is a difference in approach between the two phones, which I should have explained better when comparing the Vivo X90 Pro and the Xiaomi 13 Pro. My focus was mainly on colors, and with the Xiaomi 13 Pro, authentic mode tends to eliminate the warm tones that are around the subject, which is a drawback for me. However, in terms of a more natural-looking night shot, the 13 Pro performs better.
The Mi 11 Ultra holds the warm tones better, but most shots were taken with authentic mode, leading to a difference in effect.
In terms of low light performance, it is difficult to determine, and I will make a separate review about my previous mishandling when comparing it to the X90 Pro. However, the Xiaomi 13 Pro does a better job of giving the feeling of a night shot.
On the other hand, I have some criticisms of the 13 Pro because it struggles to capture the warm tone that might surround some areas, especially in authentic mode. You can use vibrant mode to make the image brighter and clearer in everyday low-light shots, but I prefer the feel of the authentic mode. Overall, the Mi 11 Ultra is still an excellent performer.
There are distinct differences in the approach taken by these phones. For instance, the Mi 11 Ultra doesn’t have a collaboration with Leica, which means that I don’t get the same effects that I do on the 13 Pro. However, I had the opportunity to play around with the Mi 11 Ultra’s camera app before the update, when it had the 12s camera app, and I have to say that the effects were really impressive.
The Mi 11 Ultra still performs very well when it comes to camera performance. But if you’re looking for a phone with a camera that has a more natural depth and the possibility to play around with different effects, the 13 Pro is the clear winner. This is one of the major selling points of the 13 Pro, and if you’re someone who loves photography and enjoys experimenting with different effects, this phone will definitely not disappoint.
Both phones offer great quality, especially when it comes to still photography. However, the Xiaomi 13 Pro provides more flexibility in terms of effects and customization, while the Mi 11 Ultra has some limitations in this regard. Overall, both phones perform admirably and hold up well.
