UNFOLDING THE FUTURE: GET A SNEAK PEEK AT GOOGLE’S PIXEL FOLD IN LEAKED VIDEO

Foldable phones are the latest trend in the smartphone industry, and Google is set to join the fold with their upcoming Pixel Fold. Excitement for the device has been building in recent weeks, and a leaked hands-on video has given us a closer look at what we can expect. In this article, we’ll dive into the details of the Pixel Fold and explore the features and rumors surrounding Google’s first foldable phone.

It is common for images and videos of Google’s products to be leaked before their official release. Recently, the Pixel Tablet was spotted at a design show in Italy, and now, a video of the Pixel Fold has surfaced.

Before this latest leak, we have already seen renders, plastic models, and real-world photos of the Pixel Fold. However, the new video provides the clearest view yet of Google’s first foldable smartphone, although it does not reveal all the details.

The video was shared on Twitter by Kuba Wojciechowski, a developer who has a history of leaking information about unreleased Pixel phones. The video is consistent with previous reports, increasing the likelihood that it is authentic.

According to recent leaks, the inner screen of the Pixel Fold is said to measure 7.6 inches and features a 120Hz OLED display. The top and bottom bezels on the inner screen are significant in size, and the top bezel is believed to house an 8MP camera. The display appears to have been obscured, most likely to conceal any identifying information about the person who leaked the video.

When the screen is active, there doesn’t seem to be a noticeable crease, but when it is turned off, a slight crease is visible. The device appears to fold flat, suggesting that it uses a waterdrop hinge.

Additionally, we get a glimpse of the outer display, which is rumored to be 5.8 inches in size, but it is switched off. The outer display seems to have thinner bezels and a small pinhole for a supposed 9.5MP camera.

In addition to showcasing the inner and outer displays, the leaked video also gives a brief look at the physical fingerprint reader and volume buttons. A small portion of the horizontal camera bar that will house the Pixel Fold’s three rear cameras (48MP main + 10.8MP ultrawide + 10.8MP telephoto with 5x optical zoom) is also visible.

The Pixel Fold has been the subject of many leaks in recent days, and Google is expected to release a teaser for it as early as next week. The device is likely to be officially announced at Google I/O on May 10, alongside the Pixel 7a and the Pixel Tablet. It is expected to be available for purchase on June 27.

In terms of dimensions, the Pixel Fold is expected to be wider than the Samsung Galaxy Fold 4, but not as tall. This design choice is aimed at avoiding a narrow and cramped feel when folded, and preventing the device from having a square shape when unfolded. The phone is expected to be heavier than the Fold 4, mainly due to the larger 5,000mAh battery.

Rumors suggest that the Pixel Fold will be powered by the Tensor G2 chip, Google’s own system-on-chip. The base model is expected to have 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, with a rumored price of $1,799. However, it’s uncertain whether this high price will impact its popularity and prevent it from becoming one of the most popular foldable phones of 2023. Only time will tell how consumers will respond to the Pixel Fold’s features and price point.
