Boiled Peanuts In Crock Pot

Boiled Peanuts In Crock Pot

Boiled Peanuts In Crock Pot is a go-to snack in a lot of cultures, the American South – where you’ll find them in gas stations, the Philippines, Thailand, China, Vietnam, Ghana, and other African countries. It’s a delicious snack you can make at home simply by putting them in a crockpot and keeping it going for at least 24 hours to soak in the spice and soften up. It’s a low effort but the results pay off.

It’s important to use green peanuts in this recipe (not roasted). Green peanuts are freshly picked and normally available between May and November. And If you’re not sure what to buy, just follow this Link to have a good idea about what the green peanuts are. Or just purchase them online HERE…

These are a perfect snack for game day get-togethers, tailgating, boating or just eating at home (like I did!). I seasoned mine with only salt, but you can also spice them up with cayenne pepper, Old Bay seasoning, garlic, or Cajun seasoning. FOR THE INGREDIENTS AND INSTRUCTIONS, PLEASE! INSTRUCTIONS:

1 ) Place peanuts in a colander and wash well under cold running water to remove dirt and debris. Place peanuts in the slow cooker and cover with water. Add salt and stir well to combine.

2 ) Cover and cook on high for 5-6 hours, or until desired tenderness. Check during cooking and add additional water and stir, if necessary.
